Online Piano Lessons

Online lessons are live, interactive, and genuinely effective. If your schedule does not allow travel, your piano progress does not have to stop.

You receive detailed feedback on technique, phrasing, tone, rhythm, and musical understanding, without commute time. For many adults and teens, online lessons are also a little more comfortable, which means we can do deeper work sooner.

How virtual lessons support real progress

Online sessions follow the same bones as in-person:

  • Begin with warm-ups or review

  • Play assigned repertoire

  • Receive real-time corrections and demonstrations

  • Get written notes and practice guidance after each lesson

Over time, students often notice:

  • More consistency playing through pieces

  • Improved tone control

  • Faster sight-reading

  • Stronger rhythmic awareness

  • More efficient practice habits

What you’ll need

  • Acoustic piano or weighted digital keyboard

  • Device with a camera and microphone (laptop or tablet works well)

  • Stable internet connection

  • A quiet practice space

Screen sharing lets us review sheet music, theory, and listening examples together. Every lesson is live and customized, never pre-recorded, never automated.

Online lesson FAQs

  • A piano or keyboard, a device with camera and microphone, and reliable internet. A laptop or tablet positioned to show your hands works best.

  • I watch alignment and movement carefully: hand shape, wrist angle, forearm use, tension patterns. I demonstrate on my piano so you can see and hear the correction, then I guide you as you experiment in your own body.

  • We troubleshoot quickly, and we also have backups: you can send a recording for detailed feedback, or we reschedule if needed. Most home setups work fine.

  • Because your hands are not generic. Live teaching responds to your specific habits in real time, which prevents inefficient technique from getting reinforced for weeks.

  • Typically 30 to 60 minutes, depending on age, goals, and attention span.
