Embrace Your Music Enrollment Agreement

Thank you for choosing to Embrace Your Music! (www.embraceyourmusic.com)

Your participation in piano lessons or creative coaching indicates acceptance of the following policies.

Creative Portal: Upon committing to a piano lesson, a collaborative coaching session, or a month of guided independent play, you will receive a link to create a log-in for the Creative Portal. This platform serves as your access point for:

  • studio resources and practice tools

  • lesson notes and practice plans

  • the studio calendar and rescheduling options

  • the Practice Log for submitting videos and receiving feedback

Tuition Options: Embrace Your Music offers flexible enrollment options to support steady growth and creative depth. Tuition reserves a specific lesson time (when applicable), is due immediately upon receipt of invoice, and is non-refundable regardless of attendance. Regular attendance is encouraged for maximum benefit, and the tuition structure accounts for occasional missed lessons due to unforeseen circumstances.

Collaborative Coaching: supports community, performance, and musical play for students of any age. Sessions are 60 minutes and are typically held on the fourth Sunday of each month, subject to change.

Billing: Embrace Your Music is a registered small business based in Seattle, Washington.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. Stripe’s standard processing fees are typically 2.9 percent plus $0.30 per successful domestic card charge, though rates may vary depending on card type or entry method.

Any payment processing fees charged by Stripe are the responsibility of the client and are not refundable.

Rescheduling and Cancellations: Your lesson time is visible on the Creative Portal calendar. If you need to miss a lesson, log in and cancel with at least 24 hours notice to receive a makeup credit for future use, depending on availability. Credits expire after one year.

Collaborative Coaching sessions are not eligible for makeup credits.

Lesson cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are not available for rescheduling. However, you may submit pre-recorded practice videos for feedback through the Practice Log in the Creative Portal.

A virtual lesson in lieu of an in-person lesson may take place at the usual lesson time with at least one hour notice.

Online Lesson Attendance: Students are asked to log in 3 to 5 minutes before the scheduled lesson time to ensure audio, video, and instrument setup are ready. Online lessons are forfeited if the student does not attend within five minutes of the scheduled start time, unless a late arrival has been prearranged.

Inclement Weather: In cases of inclement weather that make travel unsafe, in-person lessons may be moved to online lessons at the scheduled time.

Communication: Rachel is generally offline Thursday through Saturday. Messages are typically answered within one to two days during the Sunday through Wednesday teaching week. Messages received Thursday through Saturday will be responded to during the next working window.

Discontinuation: If discontinuing monthly enrollment in lessons or coaching, please provide 30 days written notice. Any notice fewer than 30 days will incur a fee equal to one month’s tuition.

Creative Relationship: Piano lessons and creative coaching involve creative relating between you, me, the piano, your audience, and your first instrument, your body. These relationships ask for courage and commitment. I applaud your trust in yourself and am grateful to support your self-expression in music.
